We are looking for a Mechanical Designer. In this role at K&K, you will analyze client needs, design 3D molds and tooling, and oversee the full process through to manufacturing. You will serve as a key pillar supporting the shop floor to ensure technical efficiency, feasibility, and the high precision of our products.

  • 3D Design & Drafting: Perform end-to-end design of plastic injection molds and specialized tooling using Solid Edge, and produce precise fabrication drawings.
  • End-to-End Project Management: Lead the technical side of projects from initial requirements and validation all the way to final manufacturing.
  • Production Technical Support: Ensure shop floor feasibility, specify tolerances, design fixtures/jigs, and address any adjustment requests in the plant.
  • Collaboration & Alignment: Participate in kick-off meetings, design reviews, and shop floor hand-offs while working closely with both production teams and clients.
  • Model and build 3D assemblies for molds and tooling on a CAD workstation (Solid Edge);
  • Create and check detail and assembly drawings according to the company’s precision standards;
  • Analyze client drawings and validate injection and machining feasibility;
  • Design jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing aids for the shop floor;
  • Track and resolve technical change requests or corrections during production;
  • Work in close collaboration with machinists and the production team to optimize machining time and methods.
  • Education: DEC (Diploma of College Studies) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent training/experience;
  • Experience: Significant experience in the design of injection molds or industrial tooling;
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of machining processes and mechanical manufacturing;
  • Software: Proficiency in Solid Edge (or expertise in another 3D software such as SolidWorks/Inventor with a quick learning curve);
  • Personal Profile: Autonomous, resourceful, with strong technical judgment and solid priority management;
  • Teamwork: Team player with strong communication skills and an open, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
